Raffles International College organized a seminar titled ˇ§How Online Studies Enhance Your Career Pathˇ¨ on Mar 30, 2007. We had invited two of honourable speakers, Professor Scott Holmes, Dean of Graduate Studies, Professor of Accounting of University of Newcastle and CEO of GraduateSchool.com (provider of university's postgraduate online programmes) from University of Newcastle, and Mr. Ralph Yam, the President of University of Newcastle Alumni Association to share their views and ideas on studying in the new century.
Professor Scott Holmes started the seminar by giving an introduction to University of Newcastle and Gradschool.com, followed by an in-depth comparison between traditional mode of distance learning and the online mode. He went on to stress the importance of the Internet in the era of digitalization, as well as forecasting online study would become the learning trend. Mr. Ralph Yam shared his past experience in short and he introduced that studying online would also help to create network between different countries through the Alumni Association.
The seminar had been successful in attracting students who aimed to study DBA in foreseeable future, University of Newcastle alumni and few of current DBA students to share their views with the speakers. To provide an effective platform for students, professionals and scholars to exchange ideas and knowledge, Hartford would continue to organize seminars in the future to extend our dedication in lifelong continuing education.
